Diego is currently a Ph.D student in Energy Engineering at the Engineering Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in Mexico City. He specializes in energy and economy modeling to assess greenhouse gas mitigation potentials and energy savings. He came to Berkeley as an affiliate at LBNL to be part of the Mexican Energy Pathways Initiative, where he studies energy efficiency and energy savings policies in the industrial sector.

Previously, he obtained a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering at UNAM, where he carried out a research for calculating the elasticity of emissions due to changes in final demand for the Mexican economy, based on an Input-Output analysis. Diego graduated in mathematics at the Science Faculty of the UNAM.
